Aspartame Consumption Again Linked to Degeneration of Brain Neurons

High intake of the artificial sweetener aspartame may lead to the degeneration of brain cells and various mental disorders, according to a research review conducted by South African scientists from the University of Pretoria and the University of Limpopo and published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Blood Thinning Drug Causes Increased Bleeding in Your Brain

A new study shows that people who use the blood thinning drug warfarin may have larger amounts of bleeding in the brain, and an increased risk of death if they suffer a hemorrhagic stroke.

The world’s soils continue to be degraded at an unprecedented rate that will only exacerbate the current food crisis, scientists are warning.

 

The current surge in food prices has been blamed on factors such as the diversion of food crops into biofuels production, coupled with poor harvests caused by droughts, floods and pests. Growth Hormone Does Not Boost Athletic Performance, Says Medical Report

Taking human growth hormone does not boost athletic performance but does lead to negative health effects, according to a study conducted by researchers from Stanford University and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

 

Researchers reviewed the results of 27 prior studies on a total of 303 people between the ages of 13 and 45. They found that while taking artificial growth hormone did lead to a change in body composition, namely an increase in lean body mass, this change did not lead to increased strength or endurance. Homeschooling Banned in California as State Turns Parents Into Criminals for Teaching Their Own Children

A California appeals court has ruled that homeschooling of children is illegal unless their parents have teaching credentials from the state.
